Living in the Midwest, Fall is a beloved time of the year! Park districts and organizations all over DuPage County are hosting events centered around the season and Halloween.
Sonny Acres Fall Festival
September 14th - November 3rd

No one celebrates fall like this family-owned farm! Sonny Acres, established in 1883 is a long-standing attraction in DuPage County. Come for photo ops among the high piles of pumpkins and stay for the kiddie rides, hay rides, and shop in the gift shop. There are plenty of food and beverage vendors. Wristband Wednesdays give kids unlimited rides for $15.
Octoberfest
October 5th at 2 PM to 8 PM
DuPage County Historical Museum | 102 E Wesley St | Wheaton
Join this charitable event hosted by Gilbert’s Craft Sausages. The performance schedule includes: Alpine Thunder, Chemically Imbalanced, and Vital Signs. Have a pint in the beer garden, eat some sausage, and bring the kids to the children’s area. Proceeds will benefit the DuPage County Historical Museum Foundation. While you’re there, check out the museum!
Cantigny Fall Festival
October 12th at 10 AM to 4 PM
Parade Field | 1S151 Winfield Rd | Wheaton
Celebrate the beauty of the season at Cantigny! Admission is free and parking is $5 per car. Attendees can look forward to: pumpkin decorating, petting zoo, wax hands, hayrides, book sale, craft fair, food trucks, pumpkin sales, and live music.
Family Fall Fest
October 12th at 10 AM to 2 PM
Wild Meadows Park | Stratford Avenue | Elmhurst
Start trick-or-treating early and bring the whole family to the Wild Meadows. Enjoy an inflatable corn maze obstacle course, family photos ops, face painting, fall games, and food trucks! This event is FREE.
Danada Fall Festival
October 13th from 11 AM to 5 PM
Danada Equestrian Center | 3S507 Naperville Rd | Wheaton
This atypical fall festival is a must-attend for anyone who loves horses. There will be equestrian demonstrations, kids’ activities, displays, hayrides, food and more! This is a free event.
Pumpkin Flotilla Fest
October 20th at 4 PM to 7 PM
Lake Ellyn Park | 645 Lenox Rd | Glen Ellyn
Listen to live entertainment and participate in fall activities, pumpkin carving demonstrations, train rides and bounce houses. The night ends with a lit pumpkin flotilla on Lake Ellyn. Eat dinner or get snacks from one of the many food and beverage vendors provided by the local Rotary Club.
Boo-riffic Music & Dance Party - Kid Rock Event
October 29th at 6 PM to 6:45 PM
Cantigny Visitor’s Center | 1s151 Winfield Rd | Wheaton
This fun event is targeted for children ages 1 to 5 and their caregivers. This dance party will include songs and musical activities about Halloween. Wear a costume and decorate pumpkins! There will be some trick-or-treating for the little ones, too. Admission is $12.
